We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will oversee key accounting functions including financial reporting, auditing, and compliance. Job Responsibility:
Prepare consolidated financial statements for internal and external stakeholders by analyzing data from the general ledger and various departments
Collaborate with Inventory and Cost Analysts to schedule and conduct internal audits of policies and procedures across company warehouse locations
Create detailed audit reports for senior management, addressing findings and recommending improvements
Coordinate the collection of documentation for quarterly and annual external audits
Record monthly journal entries, including accruals, and assist in financial closing activities for monthly, quarterly, and annual periods
Support inventory management efforts, including annual inventory counts and periodic cycle counts at warehouse locations
File corporate sales and use tax returns and prepare government reports such as those required by the US Census Bureau
Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial records
Provide accounting support to operational and sales teams, including analyzing financial data and reconciling accounts
Develop and refine accounting procedures by evaluating current practices and recommending process improvements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
Minimum of three years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within the manufacturing or distribution industry
Proficiency in month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Strong analytical skills with experience in bank reconciliations and resolving account discrepancies
Familiarity with accounting software, including Oracle or similar systems
Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
Certification such as CPA or similar credentials is highly desirable
