Job Description:

Lead financial operations in Japan for a dynamic, international team – offering growth and impact. Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group timelines
Conduct analytical reviews and track KPIs to support financial decision-making
Support monthly forecasting and budget monitoring to enhance financial planning
Ensure proper recording, categorization, and processing of all costs and expenses
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable schedules
Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns and regulatory filings
Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance
Liaise with external auditors and provide audit-required documents
Support change management initiatives and process improvements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
5+ years of experience as an Accountant, Financial Controller, or Auditor
CPA, ACCA, JICPA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)
Experience with major accounting/ERP systems
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken)
Experience in the IT software and/or B2B industries (a plus)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice to have:

Experience in the IT software and/or B2B industries
CPA, ACCA, JICPA, or equivalent professional qualification
