Job Description:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for core accounting functions, including detailed account analysis, audit support, and the application of key accounting standards within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role partners closely with the Controller and finance team to strengthen accounting processes and ensure accurate, efficient, and reliable financial reporting.

Job Responsibility:

Perform detailed account reconciliations and analysis, investigating and resolving discrepancies while ensuring timely and accurate entries
Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards, including revenue recognition and lease accounting guidance
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of reconciliations and financial analysis
Assist with annual audit activities, including preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and coordinating with external audit partners
Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and strengthen internal controls
Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
CPA or CPA-eligible (150 credit hours)
Minimum of 3 years of experience, including public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Experience with Colleague or a similar ERP system
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have:

Experience evaluating and testing internal controls over financial reporting within a regulated or industry-specific environment
Experience with accounting research using authoritative accounting guidance
Experience supporting or implementing process automation initiatives within accounting functions
Experience auditing mission-driven or regulated organizations, including familiarity with specialized accounting standards and reporting requirements
Familiarity with government auditing standards and experience supporting audits conducted under regulatory or compliance-based frameworks
