Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Frankfort, Kentucky. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management. As part of our organization, you will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with leadership and contribute to critical accounting operations.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reports
oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
perform detailed bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
prepare and analyze financial reports to support decision-making by leadership
collaborate with the Controller and other key stakeholders to streamline accounting processes
ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies
assist in budget preparation and provide insights into financial performance
coordinate with executive leadership to filter and relay information effectively
support audits and reviews by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries
identify opportunities to improve efficiency within accounting operations

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounting with a focus on month-end close and financial reporting
proficiency in general ledger management and creating accurate journal entries
strong knowledge of account reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes
familiarity with accounting standards and compliance requirements
excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
effective communication and collaboration skills to work with various stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
