We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in O'Fallon, Missouri. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in financial processes, including month-end close, reconciliations, and ledger management. Job Responsibility:

Oversee and execute month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting
Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are precise and up to date
Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to accounting standards
Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Handle bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between records and transactions
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and reporting
Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights
Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies
Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and resolving queries
Provide support and guidance to entry-level accounting staff as needed

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on month-end close and reconciliations
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation
Proficiency in handling account and bank reconciliations
Familiarity with accounting software and tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract role
Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams
