Job Description:

As a tutor you will be required to deliver tuition sessions to help these students gain the confidence and level required to attain the qualifications needed and potentially return to further education. This role will involve providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs.

Job Responsibility:

Deliver tuition sessions to help students gain confidence and attain qualifications
Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
Support students' educational and social-emotional journey

Requirements:

Confidence working with a range of SEN/SEMH and challenging behaviour
Being able to cater lesson plans to the child's individual needs
Demonstrating a nurturing and supportive nature with good behaviour management skills
Rapport building with the child
Good communication skills
Being able to identify existing and potential barriers to students’ learning and help them to overcome them
Be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to the individual needs
Have previous experience of working with children who have special educational needs
Have a positive attitude and willingness to build a rapport with the child
Planning each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on the young person's progress
