Job Description:

We are seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support Year 7 pupils with Global Developmental Delay, Autism, communication and sensory needs, and trauma-related needs.

Job Responsibility:

Providing 1:1 and small group support
Helping pupils access learning, develop emotional regulation, and build independence using trauma-informed and autism-aware approaches
Working closely with teachers, the SENCo and external professionals to support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with Autism, Global Developmental Delay, communication needs and/or trauma
A calm, patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience working with children with additional needs
A calm and patient approach
A strong commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
