Job Responsibility:
Instruct students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and other intricate profiles, in science
Modify and adjust the science curriculum to cater to diverse student requirements and learning approaches
Develop captivating and accessible lesson plans, using hands-on experiments and visual resources
Incorporate Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) objectives into daily instruction and evaluation methods
Offer pastoral and academic assistance to students, nurturing their well-being and self-assurance
Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, support personnel, and guardians
Maintain precise records of student advancement and accomplishments
Contribute to the general progress and enhancement of the school's science department
Requirements:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Is legally permitted to work in the UK
Possesses a current Enhanced DBS check (or is prepared to apply for one)
Has demonstrable experience teaching SEN students in UK schools
Exhibits strong skills in classroom and behaviour management
Is enthusiastic about building inclusive learning environments and promoting an interest in STEM
Has excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
Is flexible, tenacious, and dedicated to supporting the unique needs of each student
