Job Description:

SEMH Teacher – Alternative Provision (Guildford, Surrey). Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people who need specialist support? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a highly regarded Alternative Provision in Guildford, supporting pupils aged 5–16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teach and inspire students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing, structured environment
  • Deliver creative, differentiated lessons that engage learners and help them achieve their potential
  • Work closely with a skilled pastoral team to provide holistic support and promote positive behaviour
  • Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive setting where every child feels valued

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in SEMH or alternative provision settings
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a restorative approach
  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils who have complex needs
  • Resilience, empathy, and a commitment to making a real difference
