Security Guard - Custom Protection Officer

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues
• Observe and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders as needed during incidents at the location
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide a sense of security-related support for employees and visitors
• Provide safety and security of riders on the transit light rail system, station platforms throughout the Greater St. Louis region
• Duties will include post security until relieved

• A minimum of three years combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree is required
• At least one year of security-related experience is required
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
• Each candidate must have achieved at least one of the following to qualify: Military service that included law enforcement or security duties (e.g., military police, elite military forces, and combat arms) or support in a combat zone
• Eight years' active service in any military branch
• Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice
• Associate degree in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
• Graduation from a certified public safety academy in law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighting

The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred
