Job Description:

Secondary School Level 2 Teaching Assistant - Manchester. Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant ready to start or continue your career in a Secondary environment? We are seeking exceptional Level 2 TAs to provide vital in-class support and assist with the learning and behavioural needs of students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) in various secondary schools and academies throughout the Greater Manchester area. We have a high volume of openings for both Temp/Supply and Permanent contracts starting immediately and in the new term.

Job Responsibility:

  • In-Class Assistance: Providing direct support to the Class Teacher during lessons, preparing resources, and supervising student activities
  • Small Group Support: Facilitating small group work to reinforce understanding of lesson material across subjects like Maths, English, and Science
  • SEN Provision: Supporting students with mild to moderate special educational needs (SEMH, Autism, Dyslexia, etc.) through 1:1 guidance and assistance
  • Behaviour Management: Helping to implement and reinforce proactive school behaviour policies to maintain a positive and focused learning environment
  • Pastoral Care: Offering general pastoral support and supervision during non-contact time, such as lunch and break duties

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Qualification (or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning, or demonstrable experience in a school setting
  • Recent Experience working in a Secondary School environment (KS3/KS4) is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with teenagers and staff
  • A clear and current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
