We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Manager to lead and grow our business within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) market. This role will be responsible for managing an 8-person team focused on key U.S. DoD organizations, including the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, DISA, and more, while driving revenue growth and a high-impact sales strategy aligned with IT modernization within the DoD and Intelligence agencies.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive go-to-market strategy targeting the U.S. DoD to include U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and multiple Combatant Commands and Fourth Estate Agencies, both CONUS and OCONUS
Develop and lead the execution of a Sell-to go-to-market strategy
Drive revenue goals by managing pipeline development and forecast accuracy
Oversee teams’ account planning and execution to expand presence within key DoD organizations and with industry partners
Build, sustain and grow executive relationships with DoD stakeholders including leadership, key decision makers and influencers, technical and program managers, and finance and procurement officers
Guide collaboration with Industry and Federal System Integrator (FSI) partners to align with major Federal contract vehicles (GWACs, IDIQs, OTAs, BPAs)
Identify teaming arrangements and influence pursuit strategies to enhance competitiveness
Ensure effective positioning of HPE solutions across Cloud, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, Data, Networking, and Digital Transformation
Oversee technical alignment and solution development in coordination with pre-sales and engineering teams
Lead or support high-impact proposal responses including RFIs, RFPs, white papers, and capture strategies
Monitor DoD/Federal IT procurement trends, legislation, and funding cycles impacting target markets
Provide strategic insights to internal stakeholders to refine offerings and competitive positioning
Represent HPE at DoD/industry events and strategic partner engagements
Requirements:
5+ years of IT sales/leadership experience preferred
10+ years DoD IT and procurement experience, operational requirements development, and team management
Demonstrated success leading engagements with the DoD
Deep knowledge of DoD/Federal procurement and acquisition processes
Experience working with specific DoD/Federal organizations and agencies
Strong leadership, negotiation, and executive relationship management skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Technical fluency in emerging tech including Cloud, Cybersecurity, AI/ML, and Digital Modernization
TS Clearance preferred
Nice to have:
Active U.S. security clearance (Secret, TS/SCI or higher) is a plus
Experience with and an understanding of the DoD, Intelligence, and Civilian agency programs
Understanding of the Federal budget cycle and procurement strategy and policies
Background in requirements development, strategic/operational planning and execution, and government finance and contracting
