Job Description:

Sales Manager position at Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne Flagstaff Gardens responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group/catering-related opportunities, maximizing revenue, achieving revenue goals, and driving customer loyalty through service excellence.

Job Responsibility:

Proactively solicit and manage group/catering-related opportunities
Manage group/catering opportunities not handled by Event Booking Center
Actively up-sell each business opportunity to maximize revenue
Achieve personal and team related revenue goals
Ensure proper and timely turnover of business for service delivery
Drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence
Provide service to grow share of account
Identify new group/catering business
Understand market competitors and economic trends
Close best opportunities based on market conditions
Monitor same day selling procedures
Understand property's primary target customer
Respond to incoming group/catering opportunities
Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities
Execute operational aspects of business booked
Support company's service and relationship strategy
Execute company's Customer Service Standards
Partner with Event Management and Operations
Obtain guest feedback on product quality and service levels
Attend pre- and post-convention meetings
Build relationships with existing and new customers
Develop relationships within community
Manage relationships with key stakeholders
Conduct site inspections
Create contracts as required

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
2 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with no work experience required
