Job Description:

Wissen Technology is hiring an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join our high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails and a deep understanding of backend architecture, performance optimization, and modern development practices.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using Ruby on Rails
  • Manage dependencies using Bundler and integrate third-party libraries and gems
  • Write optimized Active Record queries for efficient database operations
  • Implement background job processing using Sidekiq
  • Apply caching techniques using Rails caching, Redis, and Memcached
  • Handle concurrency and distributed database operations using Makara
  • Manage database migrations and seeding for schema and data updates
  • Stay current with latest Gems and manage Gemfile dependencies
  • Apply design patterns for scalable and maintainable code
  • Demonstrate understanding of Ruby constructs like proc vs lambda
  • Work with ERB templating and reusable Partials for modular front-end development
  • Implement error tracking using HoneyBadger
  • Use IDEs like RubyMine or VSCode for efficient development
  • Utilize Redis for caching and data-intensive operations
  • Apply memoization techniques to reduce redundant computations
  • Leverage metaprogramming for dynamic and flexible code structures
  • Understand Ruby’s method lookup process to optimize code performance

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in Ruby on Rails development
  • Proficiency in Active Record, Sidekiq, Redis, and Makara
  • Solid understanding of caching, background jobs, and performance optimization
  • Experience with database migrations, seeding, and schema management
  • Familiarity with HoneyBadger for error tracking
  • Hands-on experience with RubyMine or VSCode
  • Knowledge of metaprogramming and memoization in Ruby
  • Strong grasp of Ruby fundamentals including method lookup and control structures
  • Experience with ERB templating and reusable components

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to microservices architecture
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker
  • Knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js) is a plus
