Job Description:

In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day. We seek a proactive professional to support our CO+I Resilience Validation Program (RVP) activities worldwide, with a particular emphasis on our EMEA locations. The main goal is to validate that resilience controls at datacenters operate correctly by conducting thorough tests and exercises—especially during times of change or unique situations through the tactical execution of the CO+I RVP. You’ll collaborate with partners and Microsoft teams to design site-specific test scenarios, proactively identify and address gaps, and coordinate projects to ensure these issues are resolved efficiently. This involves working closely with teams in areas such as physical security, environmental health and safety, compliance, risk management, human resources, and legal. Understanding the leader’s goals and approach will help align team efforts with overall objectives. You may also contribute to cross-functional projects as business needs evolve, cooperate with communications teams to deliver internal content, and gather details for scenario-based storytelling to communicate strategies, results, and objectives both internally and externally. Analyzing CO+I RVP metrics supports accountability and tracks team performance in core business operations. The chosen candidate will join a diverse group dedicated to continual improvement and oversight of CO+I RVP tools, strategies, and protocols, ensuring they meet Microsoft’s standards and best practices. Our aim is to build a forward-looking CO+I RVP culture and protect the integrity of Microsoft’s global datacenters by preparing and training teams for unforeseen events. We’re looking for someone who can quickly adapt and focus, has a strong background in organization and coordination, and can demonstrate understanding and support for our global CO+I RVP session strategies. This person should excel at readying teams across large organizations and assessing the impact of our CO+I RVP through hands-on drills and live incident reviews. Strategic vision and a history of meeting objectives are essential. Regularly engaging stakeholders and guiding them through various initiatives will be part of this role. The successful candidate will not only appreciate the significance of existing CO+I RVP measures but will also help develop future plans vital for a dynamic company and shifting risk landscape. Key strengths include championing programs, collaborating widely, and influencing others without formal authority. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee and coordinate effective responses to Resilience Validation Program session findings globally, ensuring capturing details to allow for minimal disruptions to the business in future events.
  • Work as part of the team on designing and implementing comprehensive CO+I RVP strategies and protocols tailored to organizational needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during Regional RVP sessions, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders, including CO+I employees, leadership, and other organizational partners.
  • Regularly evaluate organizational vulnerabilities and potential threats to proactively address and mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to CO+I RVP.
  • Conduct CO+I RVP training and exercises.
  • Assist or Lead post-CO+I RVP session reviews to assess response efficacy, identifying areas for improvement and lessons learned.
  • Continuously monitor global and local events, trends, and news to stay informed about potential threats and best practices in CO+I RVP.
  • Gather post CO+I RVP session feedback from stakeholders and adapt strategies and protocols accordingly.
  • Aid across other resilience pillars as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND years of experience in business or technology resilience, risk management or compliance.
  • The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice to have:

  • Previous work experience with assurance or audit functionality and requirements
  • Previous work experience with Continuity & Resilience Datacenter Validation Services
  • Previous work experience within Fortune-500 companies
  • Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) certification (e.g., Associate Business Continuity Professional [ABCP], Certified Functional Continuity Professional [CFCP], Certified Business Continuity Professional [CBCP], Master Business Continuity Professional [MBCP])
  • Business Continuity Institute (BCI) certification (e.g., Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute [CBCI], Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute [AMBCI], Member of the Business Continuity Institute [MBCI], Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute [FBCI])
