Job Description:

As a Resident Care Specialist, you’ll play an essential role in enriching the lives of seniors, creating meaningful connections, and making a difference every single day. As the Resident Care Specialist, your role includes providing on-site guidance to the community clinical departments while supporting consistent, safe, and effective nursing practices in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards. You’ll lead through education, quality improvement, and risk management, fostering person-centered care and operational excellence across assigned communities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide guidance to community clinical teams to ensure consistent, high-quality resident care in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Support and supplement the Director of Health and Wellness during vacancies or as assigned for special projects
  • Execute departmental goals, objectives, and policies while monitoring key performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and organizational standards
  • Track regulatory outcomes, identify trends, and collaborate on corrective or performance improvement plans
  • Participate in the review of incidents, accidents, and clinical risk scenarios to safeguard residents and mitigate liability
  • Lead and educate teams on infection control and prevention programs
  • Guide communities through communicable disease management and reporting to health departments as required
  • Conduct quality rounds and compliance audits
  • develop and implement corrective action plans as needed
  • Oversee the pre-admission assessment and clinical denial process
  • review potential move-ins and move-outs
  • Address resident and family complaints and support resolution of grievances
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings focused on quality of care, safety, and satisfaction
  • Collaborate on hiring, onboarding, and professional development of clinical leaders with the Divisional Director of Resident Care and National Director of Clinical Education
  • Support community budgeting, staffing plans, and labor management
  • Participate in the annual budget process and monitor clinical financial performance
  • Serve as a champion of company culture, promoting collaboration and accountability

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing, licensed by the states in which you are assigned
  • Minimum of three (3) years of senior living experience in a leadership role
  • Previous experience as a Director of Health and Wellness in an Assisted Living or Memory Care environment
  • BLS Certification required
  • Experience supporting multi-state operations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of assisted living and memory care regulations, clinical practices, and quality standards
  • Ability to identify and respond to high-risk resident concerns with timely, appropriate interventions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software systems
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • able to interact courteously and professionally with residents, families, and team members
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Competence in risk management, staff education, and compliance auditing
  • Must demonstrate an interest in serving an aging adult population
  • Ability to travel frequently and work a flexible schedule as needed
