Research Assistant

• Supporting research activities within the ICARE Program and ACRA priority projects
• Coordinating participant consent processes and follow‑up
• Referring and supporting participants to access care packages
• Assisting with workshops, consultations and data collection
• Liaising effectively with hospital staff, clinicians, researchers, and other stakeholders
• Completing accurate data collection and meeting project milestones
• Participating in Aboriginal cultural and team activities

• Extensive experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health or health research, ideally in maternal and child health
• Experience working on Aboriginal research projects
• Strong skills in data collection, documentation, and digital research tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities, use initiative and work both independently and collaboratively
• A positive, proactive, “can do” attitude
• Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
• DCSI Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
• Ability to work across multiple hospital and community sites
• Access to a car and a current driver’s licence
• SAHMRI is required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy for SAHMRI employees carrying out work in any SA Health Facility. Immunisation Risk for this position is Category A
