United Response is looking for friendly, supportive individuals with experience working with those who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our education team at ROC College in Cornwall on a flexible, relief basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting and mentoring individuals within ROC College
  • Support students aged 16–25 with EHCPs to develop life skills in various community settings
  • Assess student progress and outcomes
  • Help provide accredited learning based on a personalised curriculum
  • Support the development of independence
  • Assist individuals in accessing work experience placements

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel across the community with students
  • Experience supporting with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) practice and promoting lifelong learning
  • Strong understanding of complex behavioural needs
  • Experience working with individuals who have complex learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
  • Experience with Proloquo2, Makaton, or willingness to participate in training for these communication methods
