The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital is a newly expanded, state-of-the-art 24-bed unit designed to provide the highest level of critical care for our most complex pediatric patients. This expansion enhances our ability to serve the community by offering cutting-edge technology, improved patient visibility, and optimized access to care. With family-centered care as a priority, our unit includes an expanded family lounge with designated pods for respite, as well as private in-room bathrooms to better support families during their child's hospitalization. The modernized layout is designed to promote healing and well-being for both patients and caregivers in a calming, supportive environment. As the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the greater Charlotte region, our PICU provides a full spectrum of advanced critical care services. Our nurses benefit from ongoing professional development and gain expertise in managing a diverse range of critical conditions.
