Job Description:

Registered Nurse who supervises and coordinates nursing activities in the Children's Rehabilitation Center (CRC) or Butler Adult Living Center (Butler) as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervises and coordinates nursing activities in the Children's Rehabilitation Center (CRC) or Butler Adult Living Center
  • Provides direct care including personal care, medication administration, lab draws, and nursing assessments
  • Oversees the care of individuals served by delegating work to and monitoring the work of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
  • Coordinates overall care plans of individuals
  • Shares in after hours medical and/or staffing call responsibility
  • Develops nurse schedules
  • Ensures adequate staffing 24 hours daily
  • Adjusts schedules as needed
  • Takes calls on weekend call rotation
  • Trained Driver for ESA for individual served transportation
  • Performs physical assessment of individuals served
  • Completes medication pass
  • Assists with medication pass
  • Allows individuals served to practice medication and/or nursing goals/objectives
  • Helps ensure nursing supplies and equipment are available
  • Collects admission data and implements a plan of care
  • Completes quarterly assessments
  • Communicates with families, facility staff, physicians, other facilities, and support organizations
  • Coordinates admissions, discharges or changes in room assignments
  • Assists with coordination of medical appointments
  • Coordinates regular quarterly nurse staff meetings and in-services
  • Addresses job performance concerns
  • Conducts orientation and annual training of non-nursing staff
  • Maintains own continuing education hours
  • Coordinates nursing department functions in the absence of the Director of Nursing
  • Evaluates nursing activities
  • Reports problems that impact resident care, safety and security
  • Attends staff and mandatory organizational meetings
  • Ensures adherence to infection control standards
  • Protects and promotes rights of individuals served
  • Initiates and follows through with departmental protocol in emergency situations
  • Takes call schedule as assigned
  • Directly supervises, RNs, LPNs and CNAs

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or technical school of Nursing (RN)
  • Associate degree plus four years related experience and supervisory experience required
  • RN with bachelor’s degree plus two years related experience and supervisory experience preferred
  • Current License issued by the AR State Board of Nursing (RN)
  • Valid Arkansas Driver's License
  • Valid Car insurance
  • Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, ICF/MR Regulations
  • Ability to instruct and train staff or residents
  • Ability to observe, evaluate, and document performance
