The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral support services to students within a school setting under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). The RBT works collaboratively with educators, related service providers, and school staff to support students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental, emotional, or behavioral needs in accessing their educational environment. In alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs), the RBT implements evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to promote academic engagement, social skills, communication, and positive behavior. The RBT collects and documents behavioral and academic data, supports inclusion in classroom routines, and helps reduce behaviors that interfere with learning while maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
