Job Description:

The Refreshment National Trainer at American Food & Vending is responsible for providing national-level training, coaching, and operational support to Route Drivers across the country. This role ensures all refreshment route activities meet company standards for service, merchandising, safety, equipment care, and customer satisfaction. With extensive travel, this position plays a key part in onboarding new drivers, supporting existing routes, and assisting with equipment installations nationwide.

Job Responsibility:

  • Train new and existing Route Drivers on operational standards, safety procedures, merchandising practices, and customer service expectations
  • Conduct ride-along evaluations and provide skill-based coaching to reinforce best practices and address training needs
  • Use handheld scanning devices for route accountability, inventory accuracy, and reporting
  • Support branches with inventory processes, merchandising execution, and equipment handling
  • Assist with new installations of vending and beverage equipment at customer locations nationwide
  • Troubleshoot and perform light maintenance on vending and beverage machines, as needed
  • Provide field support to solve daily route challenges, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Travel approximately 70% of the time to various company locations across the U.S.
  • May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Route Driver in refreshment, vending, or related services
  • Experience with inventory management, merchandising, handheld scanner technology, and basic computer skills
  • VendMax experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate execution
  • Calm and professional demeanor with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate others
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to meet all DOT requirements
  • Must have the ability to obtain TSA required identification to travel within the US prior to start date
  • Ability to lift/move equipment and assist with installations as required
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining vending and beverage machines preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently
