Receptionist

• Provides a superior level of secretarial duties and reception services to the doctor, patients, and staff
• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
• Updates all patient files and makes sure documents are accurate, confidential, and compliant
• Greets, check-in and checks out patients, and advises other medical staff of the arrival of patients
• Assists in maintaining inventory of necessary supplies and all instruments
• Schedules appointments, follows up with no-call - no-call-no-shows, and the discharge of patients
• Answers inbound calls to the practice, as well as greets vendors and sets vendor appointments
• Conveys messages in writing, electronically, and verbally
• Maintains Physicians’ calendars, prepares doctors' notes (return to work, school, or leave notices), and all other correspondence as directed
• Scans, files, and faxes documents, as well as prepares and sorts mail
• Ensures the waiting and reception areas are kept orderly and clean, and will report on any damage to furniture, supplies, or equipment
• Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients’ family members in a compassionate and kind manner

• High School diploma or GED
• 1+ years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice setting
• Basic to intermediate EMR knowledge
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge
