You will join a growing infrastructure company who are a specialist utility provider, this role will be to work for the telecoms and civil engineering business units. This company has many exciting opportunities to progress as well as working as part of a highly experienced team with over 2 decades of engineering heritage to learn from. The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for day to day on site financial tracking. This would include keeping up to date with project finances as well as monitoring cost control. You would report to the Commercial Manager with your findings.
Job Responsibility:
Assisting in all aspects of surveying, estimating and purchasing duties within the projects
Be able to cost control work carried out by sub-contractors and third party suppliers
Assist in the implementing of cost saving measures
Be able to analyse supplier / plant selection
Update internal management system when appropriate
Assist with the management of job cost control as well as budget estimates using the internal management system to do so
Agree measures with subcontractors and local authorities, issue and prepare all payment certificates for civil contractors and manage payment processes, this includes the allocation of costs and raising PO’s etc
Prepare Final Accounts
Manage, record, value and submit all CVI’s relating to civils work
Maximise the value of CVI’s and ensure turnarounds for payments
Provide weekly analysis of average costs to ensure cost estimates are accurate and up to date
Provide a weekly report on material usage and ensure the average material cost is accurate and up to date
Requirements:
Degree in Quantity Surveying
3 years+ experience in the telecoms / utilities industry
Previous experience in Civil Engineering is an advantage
Have the ability to effectively interact with team members and senior management
