Job Description:

This role is ideal for students eager to apply quantitative skills to real-world energy markets while gaining exposure to the fast-paced environment of a trading desk. You will collaborate closely with senior members of the Trading team on the design, development, and enhancement of quantitative tools, while also conducting market research and modeling to support real-time trading decisions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work on projects involving power system design, supply and demand dynamics, and market pricing trends
  • Support the development of systematic trade strategies and identify energy trading opportunities
  • Gain hands-on experience with network modeling, economic dispatch, linear optimization, and grid topology
  • Analyze key market drivers such as weather, load, fuel costs, outages, and transmission constraints
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for the trading desk during live market hours

Requirements:

  • Undergrad or master's in a technical discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent professional experience with progressive responsibilities
  • Strong foundation in statistics and programming (Python or similar)
  • Ability to develop predictive models and market simulations
  • Analytical curiosity and strong problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

Prior knowledge of the power market is helpful but not required
