The Quantitative Analyst Senior Group Manager is responsible for strategic management of risk, overseeing teams and processes related to risk analytics, modeling, and validation. The role involves interaction with senior leaders, regulatory compliance, and development of firm-wide policies to measure and mitigate risks effectively.
Job Responsibility:
Develops, enhances, and validates the methods of measuring and analyzing risk, for all risk types including market, credit and operational
develops, validates and strategizes uses of scoring models and scoring model-related policies
full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning
organizes periodic peer reviews of model documentation, model performance monitoring, and model input validation against agreed standards
ensures policies and procedures are kept up to date and reviewed periodically by governance committees
maintains an accurate inventory of internal risk models
coordinates the involvement of Risk Analytics
performs self-assessments against regulatory rules
participates in quantitative impact studies and hypothetical portfolio exercises requested by regulators
directs the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class Risk Management programs, policies and practices
provides oversight and guidance over the assessment of complex issues, structures potential solutions and drives effective resolution with other stakeholders
provides advice to the businesses on an ongoing basis on new Business initiatives, new products, business acquisitions, and client-related matters
oversees the identification and assessment of Citi’s key risks
develops and establishes firm-wide model risk management policies and procedures to mitigate risks
monitors and measures model risk through a robust control framework
collaborates with Citi business/functional line management in recommending, developing and executing business initiatives
represents Citi on critical regulatory matters
serves as liaison with regulatory examiners, Internal Audit, and external auditors on Compliance issues
Requirements:
15+ years experience
highly motivated with attention to detail, team-oriented, organized
consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging
ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior leaders
demonstrated ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques
structure potential solutions
drive to resolution with senior stakeholders
ability to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment and successful execution, understanding how to operate effectively across diverse businesses
experience with and previous exposure to internal or external control functions and regulators (incl. the US)
ability to challenge business management and escalate issues when appropriate
