Job Description:

HSBC is seeking a Quality Engineering Lead/Senior Consultant Specialist to play a key role within their technology platform. The candidate will have hands-on experience in software development, test automation, and cloud architecture. They will collaborate in Agile teams and contribute to enhancing automated test coverage using advanced tools and methodologies.

Job Responsibility:

Actively participate in test strategy, test approach discussions at platform level, right from its conceptual stage (e.g., for new product / capability to be implemented or migrated)
Collaborating with Product Owner/Analysts to help create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria and ensure the acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality
Evaluation of functional and non-functional requirements for testability and suitability for automation
Designing, Scripting, Executing test automation scenarios and documenting test results
Increase automated test coverage of test suites / packs and pass rate in testing cycles
Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary Agile team

Requirements:

Hands on experience on Core Java/Python, Maven, REST ASSURED/Karate, Junit, Groovy libraries for API testing
Hands on experience on Selenium, Junit, Maven, Test NG libraries for UI testing, Appium, Kotlin, XUICode, Groovy libraries for native mobile testing, Cucumber, BDD methodology, Gherkin syntax
Hands on experience in any IDE (e.g. Eclipse/IntelliJ), GIT, JIRA, Jenkins (CICD exposure)
Good Understanding of REST API types (GET, PUT, POST, DELETE) and its working
Good understanding of HTTP, JSON protocol and syntax, Message Schema, RAML/OAS Specifications, Message Request-Response mechanism
Good understanding of cloud architecture (preferably AWS), Kubernetes and Docker capabilities
Working experience in Agile methodology / SAFe with ‘in-sprint’ automation
Software development and strong coding skills
Understanding of iterative style of application development
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Experience with test automation of backend/API Platform/ CICD Components
Deep knowledge and understanding of testing methodology
