CMS Corporation is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager (QCM) to oversee and implement the construction quality control program for federal projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in QC management and field supervision roles, with a strong understanding of quality assurance procedures, contract compliance, safety standards, and EM 385-1-1.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain safety on-site in coordination with project safety personnel
Participate in key project meetings including preconstruction, coordination, and progress meetings
Lead and document the Three-Phase Quality Control process
Schedule and manage Preparatory and Initial Phase meetings and report on outcomes
Coordinate with the Superintendent to stop non-conforming work and log deficiencies
Submit daily QC reports with photo documentation
Coordinate submittal reviews and maintain submittal registers
Track and review testing activities and maintain logs and reports
Maintain daily updates to as-built drawings and ensure proper documentation of changes
Ensure all materials and work are in compliance with contract requirements
maintain a rework log
Coordinate with special inspection teams in accordance with project requirements
Submit punch lists, oversee correction work, and assist with Pre-final and Final Inspections
Ensure completion and delivery of keys, O&M manuals, warranty documents, and final drawings
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Project Engineer on similar contracts
Minimum of two (2) years direct experience as a QC Manager
Completed the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course within the past 5 years or must obtain within 90 days of award
Must be capable of reviewing construction drawings and interpreting critical path schedules
Must be familiar with EM 385-1-1 Appendix Q requirements and able to oversee construction involving activities such as excavation, confined space entry, fall protection, electrical work, cranes, and rigging
Must be on-site when work relevant to their area of oversight is being performed
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
CQM certification required (current or within 90 days of contract award)
Completion of OSHA 30-Hour and 40-Hour Contract Safety Awareness Courses (within 60 days)
Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and associated regulations
Proficient in Microsoft 365
Able to lead a team and coordinate efforts with subcontractors and internal personnel
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be organized and capable of maintaining accurate and timely documentation
Ability to review and interpret technical documentation and enforce contract requirements
Must be fluent in English
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass federal background checks for secure facility access
80–100% travel required based on project location and volume
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle insurance requirements
This position requires both field and office work
Fieldwork includes: Walking construction sites, working around machinery, and being exposed to varied weather
Lifting up to 40 lbs. repeatedly
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and movement throughout the workday
Office work includes: Sedentary work using computers, phones, and general office equipment
