Job Responsibility:

  • Inspects all fabrication jobs to maintain the quality levels of work produced in accordance with applicable codes and standards and Prospect Steel QC procedures
  • Travels to subcontracts to inspect jobs for proper standards when required
  • Prepares daily inspection reports
  • Monitor records on all shop welders with their level of certification and monitor daily rod use
  • Assist in setting up, monitor and maintain welding procedures, bolting procedures and painting procedures required for projects
  • Provide feedback on questions related to qualifying and project requirements from shop employees
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required

Requirements:

  • High School education or the equivalent is required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in construction industry and/or welding
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) may be required
