About the Purchase Ledger Assistant role: As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a detail-orientated and proactive Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our finance team. As Purchase Ledger Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger records and ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
Job Responsibility:
Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely data entry
Investigating invoices that don’t meet company criteria and resolving accordingly
Setting up new suppliers and subcontractors in our in-house system and completing HMRC verification where appropriate
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Administering the Invoices inbox dealing with supplier enquiries
Dealing with supplier queries via phone and email
Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work at pace, manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Experience of administering CIS and DRC is desirable but not essential
Enthusiastic and hardworking attitude
Ability to think on your feet and be self-motivated
A team player
Communicating with suppliers and customers professionally and courteously
A positive, can-do attitude that fits our team culture
