Octagon Professionals is one of the main service providers supporting the European Space Agency, and we are expanding our scheduling support team at ESA Headquarters (Daumesnil) in Paris, France. We are looking for analytical, detail-oriented professionals who enjoy working in an international, technical environment. As a Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Space Transportation Programmes schedules, ensuring accurate planning and monitoring of critical activities. You will serve as a key resource for schedule analysis, risk assessment, and stakeholder coordination within ESA’s Space Transportation Directorate.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain the Space Transportation Programmes Master Baseline Schedules
Monitor and control the master schedule, including complex schedule analysis, critical path assessment, and trend reporting
Identify critical activities and evaluate alternatives for improvement
Ensure consistency between schedules from various suppliers
Support stakeholders in understanding and using the schedule efficiently
Conduct risk assessments and integrate comprehensive scheduling data (activities, milestones, durations, dependencies, calendars, etc.)
Develop launch-based operations planning and launch campaigns
Define key milestones, identify critical and sub-critical paths
Aggregate and synthesize schedule inputs from partners into a working Master Schedule
Maintain risk-adjusted schedules using Monte Carlo tools
Monitor deviations between working and baseline schedules
Conduct advanced simulations and “what-if” scenarios with dedicated tools
Provide regular schedule reports
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in project scheduling, preferably in the aerospace or space industry
Fluency in both French and English is required, as the service is to be provided in both languages
Proficiency in MS Project (Professional) and risk management tools
Expert knowledge in Monte Carlo-based schedule risk analysis
Experience using Visio Professional or other visualization tools
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Previous experience working on space missions or operational infrastructure or in multi-disciplinary technical environments is highly desirable
