Job Description:

CSDG, an award-winning, multi-disciplinary design firm in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Project Manager to join our Landscape Architecture team. CSDG is a planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture firm that combines strategy, creativity, and proven local expertise to deliver resilient design solutions across diverse project types. Our integrated team is grounded in collaboration and data-driven insights, working seamlessly to help clients navigate complexity with confidence and bring their vision to life. Over the past 20+ years, CSDG has strategically evolved from a civil-focused firm to a well-rounded team of planners, landscape architects, engineers, and talented designers. This unique model allows us to balance creativity, technical expertise, and community needs to shape places that are thoughtful, resilient, and built for the long term. The ideal candidate will lead landscape architecture projects through all phases—from early concepts to construction observation—while helping clients solve challenges, improve efficiency, and balance community needs with evolving environments. This role requires leadership, problem-solving abilities, technical expertise in landscape and hardscape design, and a passion for sustainable, impactful work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead landscape architecture projects from concept through to completion
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within financial parameters
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams including landscape architects, civil engineers, urban planners, architects and contractors
  • Track project progress, manage risks, and report on status to senior management and clients
  • Ensure compliance with local zoning regulations, environmental policies, and building codes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations, articulating design concepts, project updates, and addressing concerns
  • Manage expectations and provide ongoing communication regarding project status, milestones, and changes
  • Develop and refine design concepts aligned with the client's vision and project objectives
  • Oversee preparation of design documentation including master plans, detailed designs, and construction drawings
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and other project deliverables
  • Provide guidance on the use of sustainable design practices and integration of green infrastructure solutions
  • Mentor junior staff, providing guidance on design practices and project management skills
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., engineering, planning) to ensure cohesive project delivery
  • Foster a positive, collaborative working environment
  • Observe construction phases, ensuring design intent is executed and adjustments are made as needed
  • Conduct site visits, monitor construction progress, and resolve on-site issues
  • Work with contractors and consultants to address design changes, budget adjustments, and technical problems
  • Assist with business development efforts, preparing proposals, and responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposals)
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives by showcasing successful projects and building client relationships

Requirements:

  • BLA or MLA in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
  • Professional licensure as a Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA) is preferred
