Job Description:

We are seeking a results-driven Project Manager to lead operational projects at our commissary facility in Minnesota. This commissary is responsible for preparing, packaging, and distributing frozen and fresh food items to multiple retail outlets daily. The Project Manager will oversee projects related to production optimization, logistics coordination, regulatory compliance, and facility improvements to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage projects to improve commissary operations, including food production workflows, packaging systems, inventory control, and distribution to retail stores
  • Work closely with operations, warehouse teams, and supply chain to ensure on-time delivery of fresh food items
  • Manage new product rollouts, facility upgrades, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives
  • Track and report on key project metrics, including production efficiency, shrink, delivery accuracy, and labor utilization
  • Work with global supply chain to complete requests for pricing
  • Coordinate with Global Food Teams to complete testing of new items
  • Assist with procurement planning, vendor coordination, and compliance tracking
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, or Operations Management is preferred but not necessary
  • 3+ years of project or operations management experience in food production, commissary, or convenience retail preferred
  • Understanding of convenience store foodservice operations and supply chain logistics
  • Experience with food safety protocols (e.g., HACCP, FDA, Federal Department of Agriculture regulations)
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet) and MS Office Suite
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume food production environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Somali) a plus
