Immediate need for a top-performing Project Engineer that will innovate and create hardware electronics for cutting-edge avionics. We are seeking someone who brings the right experience leading avionics-based product designs. Be the leader of a team assessing and driving achievement for key Hardware development, working closely with Technical Engineers across disciplines, Project Engineers from other groups and the Program Managers. You will partner with the technical resource managers, assist with staffing, and be the primary focal for program cost, schedule, and technical issue coordination and escalation. You will lead prioritization of work packages, design goals and objectives, and drive the overall creation of a piece of avionics hardware with embedded software. You will coordinate efforts between Software, Electrical, Mechanical, FPGA/ASIC, Test organizations, and customer programs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Project planning, status, execution, and escalation using EVMS/CAM standard toolsets
  • Drive clear status and issue communications between Technical leaders, Project Engineers, and Program Management. Good executive presence
  • Drive responses to blockers uncovered during development, testing, production, and delivery to locate and coordinate necessary support
  • Facilitating various teams to solutions and agreement
  • Driving HW/SW quotation estimate efforts and approvals
  • Optimize the team through procedural improvements and automations
  • Process champion: project-specific operating systems and larger reuse and multi-product or multi-project considerations
  • Mentoring junior engineers

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of aerospace/avionics products and support within PBA hardware-based projects
  • Significant experience in engineering, especially familiarity with Avionics Platform/Hardware/Software processes and practices
  • Global workforce and virtual teaming expertise
  • Familiarity with Hardware design, testing, procurement/production, certification
  • Good communication up and down. Ability to work effectively with other engineering organizations and contract manufacturers as needed
  • Prior experience as a people manager
  • Being a catalyst for whole-team engagement and drive-to-completion
  • Diverse teaming and collaboration/facilitation skills
  • Trusted Advisor relationship with Customers
  • Ability to influence others to accept new concepts, practices, deploy new approaches
  • Business acumen – knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application, within Aerospace and the larger industry
