As a Project Director, you will lead and inspire a talented design team, driving the creative vision from the initial concept through to execution, ensuring design excellence in every step of the process. This role is based in Hong Kong. You would be part of our HBA Residential Hong Kong team, which is a part of our global studios in London, Singapore, Dubai & Miami. Our Hong Kong office is located conveniently in Quarry Bay District, just a 5-minute walk from the Quarry Bay MTR station on the Island line.
Job Responsibility:
Inspire and mentor the design team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation while guiding the creative process
Develop and present sophisticated design concepts that reflect a deep understanding of luxury design and align with project objectives
Utilise expert space planning skills to create functional, aesthetically pleasing environments that enhance guest experience
Supervise project timelines and milestones, ensuring that all phases are completed on schedule and to the highest standards
Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial goals are achieved while maintaining design integrity
Maintain professional relationships with clients, effectively presenting design packages and project updates
Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and precision, adhering to local building codes and regulations
Identify potential project risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project execution
Maintain detailed project documentation and generate regular progress reports for stakeholders
Oversee all contractual obligations, including scope, timelines, budgets, and payment schedules
Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers and design team members to ensure the company is constantly represented in the best light
Interface with clients, ensuring a positive image of the company is constantly maintained
Assist Partner & Design Directors in developing new client relationships
Assist in mentoring and motivating the development of other ID team members
Promote and raise awareness of new design trends to the team
Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing design ideas and your knowledge
With the greater design team, plan and attend events/promos/seminars and be a positive ambassador for the company
Promote and develop the office design culture through inputting and partaking in structured and informal creative sessions
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design / Architecture
12+ years of experience in luxury Residential or Hospitality interior design
Exceptional creativity and conceptualization skills
Proficiency in space planning with meticulous attention to detail
In-depth understanding of residential design and construction processes
Proven leadership and team management abilities
Extensive knowledge of project and resource management
Software proficiency: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, AI software (optional but an advantage)
Fluent in English
