Job Responsibility:
Teaching Functions: May teach up to a full-time teaching load
Delivers curriculum in accordance with approved syllabi
May utilize blended instructional approach
Ensures all the components of the course(s) is set up
Administrative Functions: Plans, directs and provides daily guidance of didactic, laboratory, and scheduling of classes
Reviews, monitors and makes curriculum and textbook proposals
Develops curricula, and plans course content and methods of instruction
Directs program activities to ensure compliance
Develops budgets, plans, and staffing requirements
Manages daily operations, staffing and expenses
Contributes to ongoing program assessment/revision
Coordinates and actively participates on Program Advisory Committee (PAC)
Advises on equipment, supplies, textbooks, labs and library holdings
Ensures all communication regarding the applicable program board is coordinated
Faculty Oversight: Provides direction, motivation, informational support, technical/professional guidance, and training to department personnel
Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates program faculty
Holds periodic faculty meetings
Ensures faculty are recording daily class attendance and grades as required
Student Outcomes: Monitors and analyzes student attrition and retention data
Assures students are provided support services
Ensures student satisfaction surveys are administered
Ensures processes are in place to track, monitor and record student outcomes
Participates in graduation ceremonies
Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of student information/records
Professional Development: Maintains required credentials and knowledge in teaching field
Participates in professional development and organizations
Attends at least one (1) professional development activity annually and two (2) in-service events annually
Adheres to College/University policies and procedures
Maintains regular and timely attendance
Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical experience in medical imaging
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an instructor in a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
Master's degree
Must be a graduate from a radiography program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in radiography or equivalent
Current California license/permit as Radiologic Technologist
Current radiology supervisor and operator certificate
