Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced assembler to join a three to six month contract position in Kitchener on a straight day shift! You will be working with an industry leader in cutting edge audiovisual technology. Experience with electro-mechanical assembly is a great asset. ... If you have 1-2 years experience working with assembly tools, can easily read and interpret work instructions, and have excellent attention to detail this could be the role for you! This position offers an opportunity to work in a bright, clean, and supportive environment where teamwork and craftsmanship are valued. This role is set as a three to six month contract due to higher volume production needs, though it could be extended or lead to a permanent opportunity.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical parts or components
  • Inspect and measure assemblies and materials to meet specified requirements
  • Read and interpret work instructions to ensure work is completed to quality standards
  • Accurately use system tools while maintaining data integrity
  • Perform all tasks in alignment with Quality standards and maintain work area according to 6S principles

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in assembly
  • Experience using basic workbench tools such as screwdrivers and torque wrenches
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications with good computer skills
  • Self-motivated, capable of working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

  • Provide training, guidance, and support to production team members. Conduct performance evaluations, address performance issues, and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Monitor and inspect parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Address and resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and adequate stock to meet production needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assembly equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Document production issues and provide information to the following shift.
