The Retail Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing retail-focused supply chain solutions for key retail clients. The role focuses on strengthening client relationships, driving revenue growth, and enhancing operational efficiencies within the retail logistics space. This position requires a deep understanding of retail supply chain management, market trends, and customer needs to deliver exceptional service and support business expansion. Job Responsibility:
Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key retail clients
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and providing tailored logistics/supply chain solutions
Conduct regular client meetings to review service levels, identify improvement opportunities, and promote new services
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the retail sector, focusing on expanding service offerings
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
Collaborate with the commercial executive and exco team to design pricing strategies and contract terms that balance client needs and company profitability
Work closely with the operations team to ensure that supply chain solutions meet client expectations for delivery timelines, accuracy, and cost efficiency
Monitor and evaluate the performance of supply chain solutions, implementing adjustments as needed to improve efficiency
Drive innovation in retail processes and develop solutions to enhance SLAs and reduce costs
Oversee budgeting and forecasting for the retail product, ensuring alignment with financial objectives
Track and report on key performance metrics, including revenue, profit margins, and operational costs
Present monthly and quarterly reports at Exco
Conduct market research to stay informed about trends, competitor activities, and emerging client needs
Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risks
Collaborate with marketing department to develop campaigns tailored to retail clients
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) qualification and or similar qualification and or experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
10+ years in logistics, supply chain, or retail management, with a focus on the retail sector
Previous experience in a commercial or client management role is preferred
Must be willing to travel
Valid Code 08 drivers license and own reliable transport essential
