We are looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Maine. This role involves overseeing purchasing operations, managing procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Job Responsibility:

Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management
Oversee the creation and approval of purchase orders in alignment with company procedures
Develop and implement efficient buying processes to optimize costs and streamline operations
Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and standards
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast procurement needs and align purchasing strategies
Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to maintain quality and reliability
Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to inform purchasing decisions

Requirements:

Proven experience in corporate procurement or a related field
Strong knowledge of purchase order management and buying processes
Expertise in procurement functions, including sourcing and vendor relations
Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts effectively
Excellent analytical skills for evaluating supplier performance and cost-saving opportunities
Familiarity with procurement software and tools
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
