Job Description:

Under direct supervision in the Wet/Press Unit, performs a variety of duties in the operation, cleaning, adjusting and routine repair and maintenance of offset presses, high-speed copiers, paper cutters, collating and folding machines; prepares negatives and plates.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operates one or more Ryobi Perfector, AB Dick, W & D 410, 320BE or I-Jet envelope machines
  • Operates a high-speed copier for a variety of fast copy and smaller run jobs
  • Operates a variety of peripheral finishing and bindery equipment including a cutter, booklet maker, folders, drill press, collators and other padding and binding equipment
  • Cleans, adjusts, makes minor repairs and performs routine preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment in the shop
  • Performs a variety of dark room functions including operating plate making equipment for the production of aluminum and electrostatic plates
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Requirements:

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school
  • Requires one (1) year of experience in the print reproduction trade

Nice to have:

  • Two (2) years of experience operating a variety of high-volume offset press for the production of a variety of printed materials
  • Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and repair of equipment machines, such as offset press, copier, etc.
  • Two (2) years of experience performing dark room functions including operating plate making equipment
  • Two (2) years of experience operating peripheral finishing and bindery equipment
