Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated accountant to join the Controllers Group as a Principal Accounting Associate with a focus on risk, controls and compliance. You will be a self-starter responsible for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. The Controllers Group supports the financial implementation of new products, services, and systems with countless opportunities for knowledge growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as the main point of contact and own various risk management deliverables such as BCP, PLA, SOX Control and IRP support
  • Promote proactive risk management initiatives to reduce the residual risk within the business
  • Lead Retail Controller’s engagement activities on process level assessments, internal and external audits, and regulatory commitments
  • Drive risk management initiatives to completion and execute roadmaps that deliver improved risk management practices, working with stakeholders to solve complex problems under tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with FRM, SEC Reporting and other teams across the organization on various corporate initiatives
  • Communicate with and influence leadership and key stakeholders on key process risks and actions needed
  • Provide regular and open communication for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments
  • Stay current on understanding effective risk management, process and control effectiveness strategies
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay connected on process or product changes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting, or in external financial reporting, or in audit or in finance, or a combination
  • At least 3 years of experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office products, or a combination

Nice to have:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 3+ years of experience in risk management within the banking or financial services industry
  • 1+ year of Agile project management experience
  • 1+ year of experience with Jira
  • 2+ years of experience in Tableau, or Python, or SQL, or a combination
  • 1+ year of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience
  • 1+ year of reconciliation systems experience
