Be part of the renewable energy revolution! We’re looking for a Pre-Contract Technical Lead to join a dynamic team driving major electrical connection projects (33kV to 400kV) for renewable energy developments. This role focuses on the pre-contract stage – ensuring technical compliance, delivering innovative solutions, and supporting winning bids in a rapidly growing sector that’s central to the UK’s Net Zero future.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the technical expert during tender preparation, ensuring compliance and proposing cost-effective, innovative solutions
  • Support estimating teams with technical scope, pricing options, and reviewing tender documents
  • Engage confidently with clients during presentations and respond to complex technical queries
  • Collaborate with procurement and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations
  • Provide technical handovers for successful bids and support project teams during delivery
  • Prepare and review technical reports and documentation for governance and internal approvals

Requirements:

  • Degree/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Membership of IET (MIET) preferred
  • Strong experience in renewable energy and high-voltage electrical systems (33kV–400kV)
  • Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, balance of plant, and grid connections
  • Familiarity with National Grid and DNO standards
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • IT proficiency (MS Office) and understanding of construction sequencing and safety standards
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
