A leading global real estate investment and asset management platform within the PBSA Student Accommodation sector is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee its French portfolio on a FTC maternity cover basis. The business operates internationally across multiple European markets and manages a large, institutional-grade portfolio on behalf of global capital partners. This role will sit within the European Portfolio Management function in London and report directly to the European Head of Portfolio Management. No language skills are required over and above good written and spoken English. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global, institutional platform with a strong investment pipeline and significant exposure to European real estate during a key period of portfolio growth.
Job Responsibility:
Portfolio & Asset Management: Holding operating partners accountable for delivery of annual business plans, including leasing, marketing, cost control and rent strategy
Driving value-add asset management initiatives across the French portfolio
Promoting best practice, consistency and rigour in portfolio analysis and reporting
Transactions & Development: Supporting acquisition and development underwriting alongside the transactions team
Reviewing transaction pipelines and providing commercial input
Fund & Investor Management: Ownership of quarterly investor reporting across asset, development and portfolio performance
Supporting fund control on capital structuring, distributions and performance analysis
Identifying and managing portfolio and fund-level risks
Presenting to investors and senior stakeholders as required
Debt Management: Reviewing financing structures, term sheets and documentation
Analysing the impact of alternative debt strategies and leverage
Monitoring covenants, reporting obligations and hedging structures
Supporting relationships with lenders and financing partners
Requirements:
Strong track record in real estate investment, portfolio or asset management
Demonstrable experience in financial modelling and analytical work
Exposure to complex, high-value transactions
Advanced Excel skills and strong PowerPoint and Word capability
Experience working in a growing, fast-paced organisation
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Highly analytical with advanced financial modelling capability
Commercially astute with the confidence to challenge and influence
Organised, proactive and resilient under pressure
Comfortable working across multiple teams and geographies
Nice to have:
