Job Description:

The Plant Services Assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organization of facility common areas and manufacturing spaces while supporting various plant service needs. This role ensures compliance with corporate safety and sanitation policies while providing essential support services that contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Adhere to corporate safety and sanitation policies
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of common areas including restrooms, break rooms, and locker rooms
  • Execute cleaning schedules for office areas, manufacturing spaces, and exterior grounds
  • Operate specialized equipment including floor scrubbers or other floor cleaning equipment, fork trucks, boom lifts, and scissor lifts
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Document completion of cleaning tasks through established checklists
  • Perform high-level cleaning and maintenance work up to 45 feet
  • Support facility needs including meeting room setup, grounds maintenance, and snow removal
  • Maintain and inspect safety equipment including eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, etc
  • Mix and apply floor/wall coatings according to specified ratios
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed
  • Perform miscellaneous janitorial duties as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of LOTO procedures
  • Understanding of SDS and HMIS labeling standards
  • Basic mathematical skills for mixing solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment
  • Drug screening required
  • Background check required
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning procedures and safety protocols
  • Understanding proper chemical handling and mixing
