Job Description:

FM Conway is looking for experienced Planer Operators to join the Surfacing division. You will play a key role in preparing road surfaces for resurfacing or repair works, operating Wirtgen Milling Machines, setting up equipment, monitoring cutting depth and surface smoothness, and working to correct depths to meet project specifications. This is a full time, permanent position, working both days and nights, based out of Dartford, Kent.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carrying out road planing operations as directed by the Supervisor
  • Carry out daily maintenance on milling machines
  • Delivering high-quality surfacing outputs that meet defined company standards and specifications
  • Following and promoting safe working practices
  • Identifying and communicating necessary resources to ensure efficient completion of work targets
  • Working as part of a team by interacting with colleagues and customers professionally
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and training

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience within the highways and surfacing industry
  • Solid understanding of operating Wirtgen Milling Machines
  • Thorough understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation
  • Valid CSCS blue card
  • Plant Operator tickets for relevant machinery such as MPQC
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Roadbuilding - Planing (Machine)
