We are seeking a Placements Co-ordinator to support our Residential Services by managing referrals and co-ordinating placements for children and young people. Reporting to the Residential Service Manager and working closely with the homes Registered Managers and Local Authorities you will play a key role in securing safe, timely and appropriate placements.
Job Responsibility:
Receive and manage referrals from Local Authorities residential placements
Liaise with Local Authorities regarding placements, fees and transition timescales
Maintain accurate referral records and documentation
Support placement matching decisions by providing relevant information to managers
Monitor vacancies and notify Local Authorities of available services
Coordinate administrative tasks relating to children placed within the agency
Ensure legal, contractual and GDPR compliance at all times
Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
Contribute to service development, data reporting and continuous improvement
Attend team meetings, with occasional travel to Chorley office and residential homes required
Work closely with Fostering Services Placements Co-ordinator and cover when necessary
Requirements:
Experience in a similar role within fostering, social care, or a related field
5 GCSE’s grade 4/c or above (or equivalent) incl. Maths and English
Qualification in social care, youth work, or administration
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Knowledge of relevant Children’s Homes, Fostering and Education regulations and legislation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
IT literate with experience using placement or case management systems
Highly organised with strong communication skills
Confident liaising with professionals and handling sensitive information
Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle is essential
