We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Placement Officer to join our team. This is a vital role in ensuring that children and young people receive timely, appropriate, and high-quality placements that meet their individual needs. As a Placement Officer, you will work closely with social workers, providers, and other professionals to source and coordinate placements, ensuring that all decisions are made in the best interests of the child. You will be part of a supportive team committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Job Responsibility:
Source and secure suitable placements for children and young people in care, within required timescales
Liaise with internal teams and external providers to ensure placement stability and quality
Maintain accurate records using IT systems such as ICS (Liquidlogic) and Microsoft Office
Apply trauma-informed care principles in all aspects of placement planning and decision-making
Manage multiple priorities and respond effectively under pressure
Negotiate placement terms and coordinate logistics with providers and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with all safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Placement/Brokerage, Commissioning, or working within the public sector environment
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and its application in children’s services
Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills
Ability to prioritise effectively and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
IT proficient, with experience using Microsoft Office and ICS (Liquidlogic)
