The Outpatient Rehabilitation team at Wilkes Medical Center is seeking a full time physical therapist to join this growing and dynamic team. Qualified applicants must have a strong focus on evidence-based practice, patient centered care, team communication and time management skills. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate and work alongside orthopedic surgeons for musculoskeletal injuries.
Job Responsibility:
Provide patient care assessment and treatment
Ensure patient evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional and according to the Standard of Practice
Provide sound professional judgment in interpreting the evaluation results and establishing an acceptable treatment plan with realistic goals
Maintain accurate patient documentation
Complete written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient/family education, charges and departmental statistics, and ICD-9 codes as appropriate
Meet department financial and productivity standards
Understand the budgeted expectations
Maintain productivity standards
Adjust individual schedules to meet the needs of the patient and department
Participate in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services
Identify quality and operational opportunities
Promote professional development and education of other health care workers and provide representation on committees
Conduct in-service training programs to provide state-of-the-art information to health care workers and enhance safety
Supervise physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students to develop their clinical skills and ensure the delivery of quality patient care
Communicate in a professional and timely manner with patients, physicians, staff, and all external customers
Provide appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines
Demonstrate age/developmentally specific knowledge, skills, and abilities for the patients served
Adhere to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building
Requirements:
Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physical therapy school required
CPR certification required every two years
Active member of APTA encouraged, but not required
Strong focus on evidence-based practice, patient centered care, team communication and time management skills
Nice to have:
Pediatric experience is a plus
Outpatient adult general practice with lymphedema preferred
