Job Responsibility:
Support pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
Assist patients and customers to deliver exceptional experience
Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly
Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Follow all company SOPs at each workstation
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
Show empathy and genuine care creating heartfelt and personalized moments
Serve patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
Offer immunizations and other services at register and over the phone
Demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems
Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law
Accurately put away medication deliveries
Complete cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories
Embrace growth mindset and be receptive to feedback
Actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
Travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards
Comply with CVS policies and procedures for patient safety
Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point-of-care testing, staffing offsite clinics)
Support immunizations where permissible
Complete additional licensure and training for Technician Immunizer status
Educate patients about importance of vaccines
Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions
Report adverse reaction events per public health requirements
Review and collect patient information
Track and document for each applicable patient
Monitor and manage vaccine supplies
Requirements:
Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy
If state board does not mandate minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If state board does not mandate minimum educational requirement, must have high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening
Ability to use math to solve problems
Identifying challenging interactions and choosing best course of action
Physical mobility and ability to remain upright for extended periods
Ability to lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead and stretch to grasp items
Move fingers repetitively for typing and picking
Extend hands and arms in multiple directions
Control precision to adjust machines
Stoop requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles
Close visual acuity for transcribing, reading, and inspection
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
Frequently lift up to 10 lbs
Ability to express or exchange ideas by spoken word
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
Nice to have:
1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs
