Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern role at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The position involves applying pharmacy school learning to real-world practice, supporting pharmacy teams to deliver on brand promise, and developing skills for increasing responsibility. Interns work under preceptor direction to complete comprehensive training and gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations.

Job Responsibility:

Applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Completing comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
Assisting pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations
Filling prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
Providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operating according to Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrating empathy and genuine care
Contributing to safe and inclusive culture
Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation
Offering immunizations and other services
Fielding medical questions and soliciting patient medical history
Taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Providing coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members
Completing basic inventory activities
Contributing to team dynamic and traveling to other stores as needed

Requirements:

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Ability to use math to solve problems
Identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical mobility and ability to lift up to 20 lbs

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
